The Comforter

This song brethren is taken directly from the gospel of John 14, where Jesus told his disciples; I AM the way, the truth, and the life: and further shared; that if you knew me, you will know my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen him. (John 14)

It is here, Jesus spoke too of the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, saying; The world cannot receive the Spirit of Truth, because it sees him not, neither knows him: and speaking of himself said to his disciples; but you know him;… for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. 

Now Jesus says this not only to his disciples but to us all; I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you…. Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more; but you see me: (John 14)
